Look Afar – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Look Afar is an Android app made by CONS-ED Ltd, a company registered in Scotland. It reminds you to rest your eyes by briefly showing a frame around your screen. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
Look Afar does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data. It has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The only connection it makes is to Google Play, to handle purchases and tips.
What stays on your phone
The app saves your settings on your own phone only: the reminder interval, colour, frame thickness, reminder character and whether the hourly stretch reminder is on. These settings never leave your phone, and they are deleted when you uninstall the app.
Permissions the app uses Display over other apps: to show the reminder frame on top of whatever is on your screen. The frame does not read or record anything on your screen, and it lets your touches pass straight through. Run in the background (foreground service): to count how long your screen has been on. Run at startup: so the reminders start again after your phone restarts.
The app only knows whether your screen is on or off. It does not know which apps you use or what you look at.
Purchases and tips
Look Afar Plus and the optional tips are paid through Google Play. Google handles the payment under the Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive your card details. Google Play tells the app only whether Plus has been bought.
Children
Look Afar does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Health information
Look Afar is a simple reminder. It does not diagnose or treat any condition and is not medical advice. If your eyes are often sore, dry or blurry, please see an optician or eye doctor.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the date above.
